We’re a group of 5 CrossFitters who lead some pretty hectic lives… the word “epic” appears in our twitter feeds all too often, we know our local bar all too well, and we do our best to balance crazy weekends (and sometimes week nights) with work with CrossFit and with… life.
We’re kind of tired of epic. Epic leads to hangovers and bad decisions. So, it’s time for a break… take a step back from the craziness and taking on a Paleo Challenge.
Here’s the deal:
- Someone will post here a few times a week.
- We must check in once a week on Thursdays, at our group dinner.
- The group dinner rotates between the five of us — it must be paleo, and we’ll publish the recipes for each of our group meals.
- In general, we’re following Urban’s Whole30 Challenge, with the following exceptions:
- Dairy is only allowed if you’re trying to gain mass… Arun
- Alcohol is allowed in limited moderation, and it can only be Red Wine or Whiskey.
- Dairy is only allowed if you’re trying to gain mass… Arun
- There might be a penalty for cheating, but we haven’t decided on that yet.
With that, check back here for posts from the five of us trying to clean up our diets.
Here’s a quick overview on what Paleo is all about
The penalty for cheating should be burpees. Or burpees-to-pull ups.
Robbie hush!!
After this comment and what I’ve seen on facebook, I’m a little scared to return to 530 am class tomorrow…
My opinion on penalties: I don’t like them. I think they make cheating ok, because you can just pay the penalty and be done with it. (See Urban’s Burpee Cookie post)
This challenge operates on trust and guilt trips. As in, if you cheat, there are no amount of burpees that will make it ok. You’ll have to live with letting yourself, your team, and possibly the internet down. Not too mention any sort of carb hangovers or lingering lovehandles. Nobody wants that. Just don’t cheat.
