Started CrossFit: March 2009 (bootcamp, started indoor in April 2009)
Started Paleo Challenge: 11/13

Max Pull-ups: 15

Favorite WOD: Anything with 400s/rowing and reasonable weight–I’m no power-lifter.
Favorite Lift: Hang cleans, power cleans are good.
Least Favorite WOD: Anything with overhead squats.
Least Favorite Lift: Overhead squats.

Why do the Paleo Challenge?

Well, I’m typically a ‘golden mean’ type of gal, including when it come to Paleo (I’ve been eating around 80% Paleo for a while now), and I’d like to see what type of gains I can achieve by going all out.  I can’t think of a better opportunity to go 100% than when you’ve got your friends supporting you along the way.  And ok, that competitive part of me wants to show that I can do it too!

Why do the Paleo Challenge?
I know that I feel and look better when I eat well. Lately, the crazy weekends and upcoming dessert season have had a nasty influence on my eating habits.  I’m looking for a reset button to help me kick the sugar habit.
Also, with my birthday and Christmas coming up, I figure this is about the best present I can give to myself. Super hot 27 here I come :)

Why do the Paleo Challenge?
For a while now I’ve been planning to go completely paleo to improve my race times and build strength/power. When I first made the move to partial paleo with Crossfit workouts, I dropped minutes off my 5K/10K race times and noticed big jumps in strength and post workout recovery. My goal is to use the Paleo challenge to run a sub 6 minute a mile 5K  – I’m close currently and I know this will help me get there. Oh I want to shoot for that 350lbs Deadlift which is still 45lbs away.
When I saw Lisa, Georgia and Eric discussing the Paleo Challenge on my twitter feed, I kinda crashed their party. I love a challenge any day and I’m thrilled with the fact that the other 4 are going to keep me accountable. I’ve got obstacles  along the way including trips to NYC and Vegas which will make things very interesting – Stay Tuned

It gives me an opportunity to get back to something I know makes me feel good, perform well, and look good. It also gives me a chance to try to “stop the madness” and get back to a routine that brings me to the grocery store regularly and keeps me away from the bars a bit more.

1) Because my weekend fun is polluting the rest of my week. There’s so much stuff I want to do but I can’t get it all done (weekend or weekday) with the way I’m spending my weekends now. It’s time to settle it down a bit, refocus, and attack those goals!
2) Because I’m vain. Plain and simple.
